Albert Bridge and Battersea Power Station
Crossing the River Thames between Chelsea and Battersea, Albert Bridge is a beautiful example of Victorian bridge architecture.
Named in memory of Prince Albert, Prince Consort to Queen Victoria, the attractive Albert Bridge was built between 1870 and 1872. Designed by Rowland Mason Ordish.
In 1992, the Albert Bridge was painted in an unusual new colour scheme designed to make it more conspicuous in poor visibility. At night it is illuminated by 4,000 LED bulbs, making it one of west London’s most striking and sparkly landmarks.
I lived on Albert Bridge Road when I was studying at Central/St Martins. This is my favourite of the London bridges and I have affectionately named this illustration “Brick and Birthday Cake”.
A3 Print (29.7cm x 42cm) – offset printed in Copenhagen on uncoated 200g Swedish eco-friendly paper.
Prints are delivered rolled in a strong tube packed in acid-free tissue paper.
