Westminster Bridge and the London Eye

kr.400.00

Westminster bridge – a beautiful wrought iron arch bridge, the iconic London Eye and a number 12 Routemaster.

Westminster bridge is painted predominantly green, the same colour as the leather seats in the House of Commons which is on the side of the Palace of Westminster nearest to the bridge. This is in contrast to Lambeth Bridge which is red, the same colour as the seats in the House of Lords and is on the opposite side of the Houses of Parliament.

The Gothic detailing on the bridge is by Charles Barry, the architect of the Palace of Westminster.

The first illustration in my London bridge collection.

This illustration was the first in my collection of vector graphic bridge prints.

I fell in love with the ironwork and the design was developed from there.
